Conquest Knight XV

I rarely do vehicle posts but I love this thing to certain degree. The Knight XV is an armored SUV built by hand by Conquest, a company in Canada. Supposedly it takes roughly 4,000 hours to assemble one and only 100 were made. Price tag was around $200,000+. Interior looks sparse but it can be customized to meet the owner’s needs.

Uses run flat tires and ballistic steel and polymer around the frame of the vehicle. They claim it’s glass is rated to stop most rifle cartridges though it may not stand up to 12.7x99mm (.50 BMG). It’s designed as a compromise between luxury and comfort and practical-tactical. It looks like a tiny Jeep in the first photo but it’s pretty big, although no where near as large as the South African Marauder.

Long walk…

A French soldier in Mali with the PGM Hecate II, a bolt-action rifle chambered in 12.7x99mm (50 BMG). There seem to be two different versions; the older one with a wooden stock and pistol grip, and a newer one with polymer stock and pistol grip. The latter has the added benefit of a rear monopod.

The Hecate II weighs in at just about 30 lbs, which is heavier than the M240.
